What makes the role as Category Executive at SSP exciting?

We are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our team to meet increased travel and new business in the Nordics Region. Will you be a part of our future in the role of Category Executive? With a focus on creating an effective process from purchase to sale, your main responsibility will be to execute a commercial plan for a portfolio of specific brands. While being based at our office at Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, you’ll work across the whole Nordics and report to the Category Manager Coffee shop and food market.

Overall role

As a Category Executive, you successfully execute the commercial plan within a category such as Coffee shop and food market. This means that you support the delivery of EBITDA growth from like-for-like sales and gross margin improvement activities and brand activities to the delivery of commercial results. Essentially, you’ll operate and ensure the whole marketing process from idea and analysis to delivery and implementation.

Main responsibilities:

- Plan and support the delivery of range, pricing, brand & marketing activities, and ensure an effective and successful implementation of commercial initiatives from idea to follow up within your specific brand cluster
- Project management and coordination of dedicated initiatives of the commercial plan
- Act as main contact to external brand owners within your specific brand cluster to ensure continued strong relationships and to identify new ideas and opportunities to implement in our units
- Support country Business Development functions in projects
- Monitor competitor activity, stay in touch with local trends and identify new opportunities
- Maintain brand support material such as brand standards, product lists, price bands and local marketing
- Respond to ad-hoc brand queries from operational and cross functional teams within a timely manner
- Prepare, submit, and track briefs to access services, as well as track progress of briefs, to ensure delivery on time and budget


Profile:

To succeed in this role, you need a degree in Marketing, Economics, or equivalent work experience. You must have relevant experience of using price, range, display and space, upselling, margin, or category optimization to deliver commercial results. Furthermore, you must have a good understanding of our business operations. Knowledge of trends in the food and beverage and/or grocery industry as well as experience from brand management or marketing is desirable.

If you have the ability to work at an efficient pace while prioritizing competing demands on time - you will fit right into this role! We see you as an analytical, commercial, and data-driven self-starter who is highly flexible, with good attention to details but also with the wish to think outside the box and create new ideas. You are self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn and adapt in a constantly evolving environment. We want you to be a proficient user of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as brand and category management systems. You have excellent communication skills and are confident working across many levels of the organization. Fluent Swedish and English in spoken and written are a requirement.
