This is what are we looking for
We are searching for an experienced java developer who could join our Sony Mobile Telephony Dev. team that is responsible for the Android Telephony framework and applications in our products.


What you will do from day to day


Analysis of issues and finding suitable solution
Debugging of primarily Java
Communication with internal users and developers (both locally and on other sites)
Working with architects to contribute bug fixes to Google
Reviewing code from other developers
Working with standard software management tools e.g. git, gerrit
Work together with other engineers

Our team is responsible for the telephony application layer in the Android OS. We are part of the software development cycle all the way from bring-up to the actual launch. We are working in close collaboration with colleagues in Japan. We’re a small team working in a wide area, giving the engineers opportunity to both deepen and widen their knowledge. The team together with the team leads are expected to plan and execute their work, to optimize and adapt ways of working, to continuously improve their knowledge, to take full responsible for our products. About you – Experience and education


BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience
2-5 years of professional software development experience
Good experience in SW development tools
Experience in analyzing requirements and transform them into software.
Fluent in spoken and written English



About you – Functional competencies


Experience in JAVA environment is required
Experience in Android development environment and tool chain is required
Experience in Android Telephony areas are a differentiator
Experience in Android framework or Qualcomm development is a plus.
Knowledge in IMS domain is of high relevance.
Knowledge in VoLTE, WiFi Calling and related areas is of great interest.
Knowledge in GSM/UMTS/LTE and experience from network signalling
