Volvo Group Corporate Standards is looking for a Standardization Engineer in the subject area Metallic Materials.
WHO ARE WE?
The Corporate Standards department is a Volvo Group-common resource organized within Group Trucks Technology, with the mission to secure quality and reduce product costs through standardization. Our stakeholders are mainly product development departments within the Volvo Group and Volvo Car Corporation. We develop standards and provide training in connection with the developed standards in close cooperation with our stakeholders.
WHAT CHALLENGE DO WE OFFER?
The challenge you will meet is handling complexity – the opportunity is global networking with colleagues from all Volvo Group Business areas to reach results! You will work in close collaboration with colleagues from, e.g. Trucks, Construction Equipment, Penta and Buses, as well as Volvo Cars and our suppliers. You will be part of an enthusiastic team of experts in a wide range of technical areas.
Your main task will be to develop new and maintain existing Volvo Group standards and design guidelines in the area of metallic materials. Another important task is to provide training and technical advice to the users of these standards, e.g. design engineers, purchasing, aftermarket, etc. Furthermore, you will be responsible for establishing and leading cross-functional networks to support the development and implementation of standards and design guidelines.
You will represent Corporate Standards in Volvo Group forums in your area of expertise, in national and sometimes international standardization forums, as well as network with universities and external institutes.

You should also have a good knowledge of standardization methodology, both within the Volvo Group and on the national and international levels.
Qualifications:
MSc degree in a relevant discipline
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Swedish
Experience of working with metallic material technical issues (theoretical level)
Laboratory and/or product development experience, preferably from the automotive industry
Experience from SQE work and/or process industry (forging, casting, after-treatment processes)
