Do you want to participate in our journey within Volvo Group? There is now an opportunity for you to join our Corporate Standards department at Volvo Group Trucks Technology as a Standardization engineer non-metallic material (plastic, rubber, textiles, adhesives, coolant etc.).
Who are we and what is the job about?
The Corporate Standards department is a corporate function situated in Volvo Technology Corporation and a Volvo Group common resource with the mission of increasing commonality and reducing product costs for the Business areas & Business units through standardization. We collaborate mainly with product development departments within the Volvo Group and Volvo Car Corporation. We develop standards and provide training in connection with these standards in close co-operation with the standard users in well established networks. We are also responsible for developing design guidelines and to document standard parts.
At Volvo Technology we are actively working to establish groupings that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent in differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality.
What will you be doing?
The Standardization engineer develops new and maintain existing Volvo Group common standards for plastic, rubber, textiles, adhesives, coolant etc. in close collaboration with representatives from the different companies in the Volvo Group. You will be responsible for establishing new Volvo Group-wide networks, where necessary, in order to implement developed standards.
Further you will be representing Volvo Group at the corresponding standardization panels when necessary, such as SIS, CEN and ISO. Also you will be driving standardization activities for plastics recycling & sustainability for road vehicles, both at corporate level and at European level.
Finally you will be creating design guidelines in connection with existing and new developed standards. As material expert, providing technical support for APQP & SQE for non-metallic materials

We believe that you have the following background, skills and competencies:
University degree in chemistry engineering (polymers) or equivalent
Product development experience is required
Good project managing skills
Excellent oral and writing proficiency in English and good knowledge in Swedish
Experience from production is a merit
Knowledge of other languages is a merit
