Standardization Engineer – PLM, Documentation Systems and QM

Volvo Group Corporate Standards is looking for a Standardization Engineer in the subject area Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Documentation Systems and Quality Management.


WHO ARE WE?


The Corporate Standards department is a Volvo Group-common resource organized within Group Trucks Technology, with the mission to secure quality and reduce product costs through standardization. Our stakeholders are mainly product development departments within the Volvo Group and Volvo Car Corporation. We develop standards and provide training in connection with the developed standards in close cooperation with our stakeholders.


WHAT CHALLENGE DO WE OFFER?


The challenge you will meet is handling complexity – the opportunity is global networking with colleagues from all Volvo Group Business areas to reach results! You will work in close collaboration with colleagues from, e.g., Trucks, Construction Equipment, Penta and Buses, and our suppliers. You will be part of an enthusiastic team of experts in a wide range of technical areas.


Your main task will be to develop new and maintain existing Volvo Group standards for PLM applications, with a focus on documentation and terminology, and the department´s internal quality management system. Furthermore, you will be responsible for establishing and leading cross-functional networks to support the development and implementation of standards and design guidelines.

We believe that you are an inspiring colleague and, of course, are passionate about Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Documentation Systems and Quality Management. You should also have a good knowledge of the Volvo Group’s product development processes as well as standardization methodology, both within the Volvo Group and on the national and international levels.


Qualifications:
MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
More than 7 years’ experience within the area of mechanical design and documentation. Very good knowledge of drawing rules, documentation rules and quality engineering
Good project management skills
Experience from production is a merit
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Swedish.
