We now recruit statisticians - bringing some of the brightest talent to Mölndal.

You will become part of one of the statistical groups at AstraZeneca's R&D site in Mölndal. Working together with about 40 statisticians focusing on two of AstraZeneca´s core therapy areas; Respiratory/Inflammation/Autoimmunity and Cardiovascular/Metabolic Diseases.

Early Clinical Biometrics
Biometrics & Information Sciences, Cardiovascular and Metabolic
Diseases

The role
Statisticians at AstraZeneca are involved in every stage of the drug development process. You will be an indispensable part of our multi-disciplinary teams and play an active role in driving the strategy for development of medicines that make a real difference to our patients across the world. You will provide statistical expertise in the design, planning, evaluation and documentation of clinical studies and programs. This will also include work of more exploratory nature, e.g. modeling and simulation, as well as other means to improve decision making.

Depending on your experience you might also be expected to contribute to more strategic planning, quantitative decision making, act as expert in our contact with external providers and collaborators, coach more junior staff and be involved in adapting and developing statistical methodology. That means we can offer the chance to be influential in drug development and the opportunity to gain experience on a range of challenging and exciting projects.

Minimum experience/requirements
These positions require strong technical and excellent leadership skills. A minimum required educational level is a master degree in statistics, biostatistics, or mathematical statistics. As our work is conducted in cross functional projects in an international environment, good collaboration, communication and influencing skills as well as good written and spoken English are necessary. A successful candidate will have great interest and ability to communicate statistical matters to non-statisticians as well as a genuine interest in the application of statistical methodology in pharmaceutical development. An applicant must be accurate with a keen eye for details and in addition have the ability to see the "big picture".
