We are looking for two exceptional Statistics Team Leaders (Associate Director OR Director Level) to join our world-class Biometrics community.
Driven by our outstanding drug portfolio and numerous submission targets we have two immediate opportunities for Statistics Team Leaders to join our Biometrics and Information Sciences (B&I) function ? home of our late stage development statistical activities.
As a key role within B&I you will lead a team of Statistical Science Directors and Principal Statiticians, Therapy Area aligned to Inflammation Neuroscience and Respiratory.
These positions are fully aligned to support our extensive Respiratory franchise. AstraZeneca aims to offer a broad range of innovative treatments and formulations to physicians and pulmonary specialists for patients suffering with asthma and COPD.

You will be based at our major scientific center in Mölndal, just a few miles from Gothenburg in south-west Sweden.
There is also opportunity for 1 role to undertake an initial 1-2 year secondment to AstraZeneca Barcelona.
The Role
You will lead the Biometrics contribution and Statistical design of drug project teams on projects transitioning into late phase development, products in Phase III development or into Established Brand teams in lifecycle development.
You will play a key role formualting the go/no decisions at the end of Phase II , in planning the product development, strategies, ensuring effective design and delivery of studies and submissions, interpretation and communication of results, in strong collaboration with external partners and support value demonstration and commercialisation of the product including Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and global publication team activitiesOur Statistical team leaders provide highly experienced strategic input, statistical expertise, and leadership to project teams in the design and interpretation of clinical studies and programmes of studies. They will also lead strategic capability or business area improvements within the respiratory therapy area.
Your Experience and Education
- 5+ experience in pharma/healthcare or other relevant area.
- In depth knowledge of general and therapeutic area statistical methodology and regulatory requirements related to the role (Respiratory disease TA knowledge is preferred).
- Extensive experience of Development, programme design and data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience of regulatory interactions and/or submissions.
Leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
Education:
MSc/PhD in Statistics or Mathematics(containing a substantial statistical component)
