GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides hands-on technical consulting services, remotely and at customer sites, for Sterling Commerce products and solutions. Strives for customer satisfaction through the provision of technical installation, configuration, integration and development services. SCOPE OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Has a medium impact on revenue. Is responsible for assisting the growing consulting revenues. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Installs and configures SCI products and solutions. Builds, tests and implements data translation maps. Develops and implements bespoke business processes, routines and maps to assist SC customers in integrating their internal and external systems. * Impacts revenue by meeting billable quota and delivering quality services; handles administrative tasks, especially those that impact revenue recognition, accurately and on time * Maintains and expands technical and business knowledge through study and on-site delivery experience. * Manages customer expectations successfully, occasionally with assistance, creating customer satisfaction. * Works with other departments to identify and solve customer technical issue, improve quality of software, service solutions and customer satisfaction. Escalates exceptions quickly to the Senior Consultant or Consulting Project Manager. *Provides feedback to Sales, Product Development and Customer Support to improve quality of software and service solutions, consulting proposals and customer satisfaction. * Oversees the maintenance of the library of project documentation on docu-share. * Prepares related administrative reports for both customer and Sterling Commerce management, including project status reports, expense reports, sign-off sheets etc * Ensure that correct and adequate information passes to customer support * May assist in pre-sales or sales activities related to prospective consulting services opportunities, preparing estimates of customer needs, positioning of consulting services. REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: * Strong customer focus and basic problem solving capabilities * Good presentation and interpersonal skills. * EDI experience * Understanding of business process modeling and associated technologies (e.g. BPML). * Competency in Java based environments and J2EE design and development. * Experience of Internet software development (XML, XPATH, XFORMS). * Experience of Windows and Unix operating systems. * Experience in wide range of third party applications (e.g. ERP, CRM). * Understanding of internet communications and security. * Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL server, DB2). * Understanding of general EAI and B2B concepts. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Must have a professional image and excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Swedish. * Available for extensive travel, from 80-100%. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree (Business or Computer Science is desirable) or equivalent work experience in a related discipline. Minimum Experience For Consideration: 2 years of technical consulting experience. Desirable: Previous E-Business Consulting experience preferred. Previous experience traveling and working on customer sites preferred. Big 2 (or similar) experience is a plus, as well as the ability to communicate (verbal and written) in other Nordic languages.
