Stores Controller to AkzoNobel in Malmö

AN Malmo in AkzoNobel is the regional head office of the Nordics Market and Sales Unit (MSU) and is a key player in the Nordics decorative paints market. The Malmo plant is a key plant in the European Supply Chain. It is a multi-Business Unit, multi-functional site offering opportunities for exposure to both the Industrial Coatings and Decorative Paints businesses. We are now recruiting a Stores Controller for the Nordics (Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden) business.



What you will do?

The Stores Controller acts as a business partner towards the Nordic organization with the main objective to drive sales, product margin and profit in the stores. You will also be involved in budget, forecasting and monthly reporting. In the monthly closing you will contribute with analysis and providing data to the accounting department for monthly accruals.

Your main responsibilities include:

* Lead/support the Stores Finance activities in Nordics
* Business Partner with the Stores Controller EMEA & UK Stores
* Drive standardization across the Retail Stores Businesses, share best practices and lead implementation
* Build high quality relationships with key members of the Retail Stores Business such as the Heads of Stores and the local Business Navigators
* Provide insights to the business around current and future financial performance and identify opportunities for further improvement
* Identify and prioritise key tactical and strategic projects to support in the delivery of the Retail Business targets for Market Share, Sales, Profitability, and OWC (Inventory and Accounts Payable)
* Coordinate activities within the Stores Operations Improvement Project, mainly related to the Finance workstream
* Interact with other workstream leaders and support the improvement of various processes (i.e. "How we buy", "How we sell", "How we distribute" etc)
* Develop a broader appreciation of the market, category, customers, and competitors in the retail sector
* Help the business to identify profitable ways to develop competitive advantage, including understanding relationships between Competition and AkzoNobel Retail Stores at companywide strategic level
* Identify process improvements that help to simplify and standardize ways of working across the teams / stores.
* Identify training needs and facilitate trainings for non-finance colleagues where required

This is a fulltime permanent position, starting as soon as possible. You will report to the MSU Controller in Malmö and will be placed at our site just outside Malmö.



Who you are?

To be successful as Stores Controller we expect you to have 3-5 years of relevant work experience as a Controller, preferably in an international matrix organisation. If you have experience from a retail business we see it as a merit. You have a university degree in Finance or Business Administration, and you are fluent in Swedish and English, verbal as well as in writing.

You have excellent analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture but also dive into details when needed. As a business partner you are able to support, but also challenge, managers in order to achieve financial targets.
