Strategic Buyer

Our Strategic Buyer at FlexLink plays an instrumental role in achieving cost reductions that are in line with your budget targets, while continuously improving the suppliers‘ service levels and delivery performance. You will also review your existing supplier base, prepare and submit tenders connected to your category alongside reviewing the strategy is part of your daily tasks.


This is what you will do
As part of the purchasing department at FlexLink, you play an important role in the delivery of our solutions to our customers. You will be part of an experienced team that, although having individual responsibilities, often work together by sharing thoughts and ideas to help each other achieve our targets.
You will be based in our HQ in Gothenburg. Some travels will be required in this role.
Main activities and responsibilities:
Review of existing and/or identification of new suppliers that relevant to your specific category
Preparation, distribution and evaluation of RFQ’s for the Flexlink products belonging to your category
Negotiate costs, lead times and frame purchasing agreements so that they are in line with the Flexlink strategy
Participate and contribute to supplier performance reviews
Participate in and contribute to new product development project meetings
Responsibility of maintaining your category strategy
Act as a link between the Supply Chain and our Technology and Innovation organisation
Maintain and distribute data in the company PLM and ERP (SAP)



This is you
We are looking for you who has experience within strategic sourcing or similar area. As a Strategic Buyer you will benefit from having a structured way of working, and a technical understanding. Focus on, and experience from, finding solutions and to solve problems is also key to be successful in this role. You also have negotiation skills and a great business acumen, sound knowledge and understanding of purchasing tools and processes as well as ERP systems, preferably SAP.
To enjoy working in this position you are a pro-active and goal-oriented individual with strong communication and negotiation skills. Your outgoing personality helps you build lasting business relations. Your success will also depend on your personal drive, analytical skills and strategic thinking.
Required skills:
University degree (Bachelor or Master), preferably within engineering or business
5+ years relevant working experience
Very good Microsoft Office Package knowledge, especially Excel and Powerpoint
Fluency in English, written and spoken
