Faiveley Transport Nordic AB is part of Wabtec Corporation, a system supplier to the international railway industry. The company was founded over 100 years ago and is one of the leading players in the Nordic train industry. As a service provider, in addition to circular services/products to the train industry, we provide, among other things, electrification and logistics optimization of ports/harbours. We are also a world-leading supplier of thread brake units and slack adjusters exported to many different types of train projects globally. The company currently has 200 employees active in sales, project management, R&D, development, manufacturing, service and maintenance as well as supply chain & sourcing, finance, HR and quality. The company has enjoyed good growth for several years and today has a turnover of over SEK 500 million.

Wabtec offers a wide product range consisting of various subsystems for trains, industrial solutions, locomotive manufacturing and maintenance service to customers around the world. Wabtec Corporation is headquartered in Pennsylvania, and currently has approximately 27,000 employees.

Your role as a strategic buyer
We are looking for you who want to take overall responsibility for supplier performance from a full QCD perspective. As a buyer, you are responsible for commercial procurements and strategies within selected assortment groups. You will search and select suppliers, request quotes and conduct negotiations of commercial terms and logistical solutions. Furthermore, you will develop our supplier base towards set goals and develop the supplier relationship for a long-term collaboration.

In the purchasing role, you also act as a project buyer in various customer projects and be part of cross-functional project groups where you are responsible for the business and operational work within the project towards external suppliers.

Our existing supplier base is global with an emphasis on Europe, which means that the service includes some travel and that the purchasing work is carried out in collaboration with colleagues at other Wabtec companies around the world.

Who are you?

To succeed in your role, you should be self-sustaining, proactive and result-oriented with a solution-focused approach. As a person, you are meticulous, committed, responsible with a sense of humor.

You have good analytical ability, are enterprising and have a holistic approach with a focus on total cost and sustainability.

We would like you to have the following training and experience

- Higher education in economics, purchasing or technology.
- Meritorious with 3 years of relevant work experience of qualified purchasing work
- Good experience in negotiating and contract management
- Good knowledge of the office package. Meritorious with Power BI knowledge.
- You should be able to read, understand and discuss drawings with our suppliers
- Fluent in Swedish and English in speech and writing
- Meritorious with experience in M3
- Meritorious if you have experience of working in project form and have worked with change management.
