Hitachi ABB Power Grid Integration support customers in creating stronger, smarter and greener grids adapted to meet the needs of the changing power landscape. Our system solutions are designed and delivered to provide the highest lifecycle value with the lowest risk.
In the role of Strategic Buyer, you will purchase materials according to required technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will be a multitasking person in a multicultural environment.
Your responsibilities
Identifies new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifies new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
Negotiates agreements with suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms and conditions. Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs.
Monitoring the project procurement status and updating Hitachi ABB Power Grids project management and SCM-team of any issues. Pro-actively working to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery.
Analyzes and evaluates bids in order to determine the optimal value.
Supports bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information.
Tracks goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing.
Oversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues (e.g. supplier claims).
Initiates purchase orders (PO) in the system, according to the Purchase Requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirms delivery with suppliers, monitors and tracks supplier performance to purchase order requirements.
Aligns supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.
Ensures that logistical aspects are considered when acquiring goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures.
Managing relationships with suppliers in partnership with regional and Global Category Management teams. Ensures global supplier relationship management platform is kept updated as defined in the global procedure.

Your background
You have Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or business administration.
Good communication and networking skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong sense of ownership and entrepreneurial attitude.
Previous work experience from a similar work field (project business), is a plus.
Professional experience in a supply chain function and in a project environment.
Technical interest and ability to solve complex problems independently.
You are a team player, driven, structured and have a result-oriented mindset.
Fluency in English, written and verbal, is a requirement
