We are the world’s original and largest oat drink company. For over 25 years, we have exclusively focused on developing expertise around oats: a global power crop with inherent properties suited for sustainability and human health. Our commitment to oats has resulted in core technical advancements that enabled us to unlock the breadth of the dairy portfolio, including alternatives to milks, ice cream, yogurt, cooking creams, and spreads. Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, the Oatly brand is available in more than 20 countries globally.
Why get involved with Oatly, you ask?
Every single department inside Oatly has a role to play in making their area more sustainable. We believe that all our people are contributing to this quest. So, if you’re getting a tingly feeling reading this, and think your indirect sourcing expertise can help Oatly make the world a more sustainable place, you should definitely keep reading.
That’s where you come in:
As a Strategic Buyer Indirect Material in our Global Category Capex, MRO and Indirect material team, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, developing strategic supplier relationships and evaluate costs connected to the indirect category.

Together with your skilled colleagues you will create a World Class Supply Chain. You will be reporting to the VP Sourcing and and be placed at the Oatly HQ in Malmö. In this role you can expect some travelling, visiting suppliers and own production sites.
This is the job today - but who knows what tomorrow brings? Oatly is still growing and so being comfortable with change will really help you grow in the role.
Here’s the kind of experience, qualities and approach that we’re looking for at Oatly:
We are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer with mature experience in global strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of successfully sourcing projects and indirect materials.
To be successful in this role we believe you:
- Are very comfortable in your experience of sourcing indirect materials and projects
- Have the ability to take ownership of your work
- Are used to managing sizable projects, challenging stakeholder landscape and complex technical solutions
- Feel comfortable influencing and leading others without being their formal manager
- Have the strength to questioning existing ways of working
- Take initiative and ownership of your category
- Aim for structure but at the same time you have no problem working in a not so structured environment. Oatly is characterized by strong entrepreneurship, fast pace and lack of hierarchy/bureaucracy
- Have good command of ERP- and BI-tools, to support integration of indirect buying process information in D365
To be the perfect fit for Oatly, we believe that you have a thirst for knowledge and that you are eager to learn more! You are a result driven person with high integrity who can find your way with a hands-on approach, even during rapid change.
You have social competence and enjoy working independently as well as together with others. As a Global Strategic Buyer, you are of course excellent at communicating, both verbally and written, in English and possibly in Swedish as well.
You feel connected to our Guiding Principles:
Get in the game
Thinking about the big picture, rather than the job description bullet points, and prioritizing doing things for real rather than creating a perfect plan that never sees the light of day (even it is a very pretty plan).
Embrace the unknown
An enthusiasm for adapting to an ever-changing environment. The only thing that is constant is change. As some wise people plus a whole lotta Instagram post have said, so you know it’s true.
Finally, we hope that you share our values and have a great interest to carry out our mission in order to make the world a little bit better!
Your Application
We welcome people from all backgrounds that think sustainability, health and transparency are mega important. So send in that CV, cross your fingers and whisper a little prayer to the powers that be. It will be fun, or at least a good time. Promise!
