Strategic Buyer to Nilar

Nilar is a Swedish developer and manufacturer of cost-effective, safe and environmentally friendly stationary energy storage systems, known as Electrical Energy Storage (ESS) systems. Energy storage can be used to bridge the gap between energy supply and demand in order to, for example, better make use of the potential of more erratic power generation from renewable energy sources, such as solar energy and wind power. Nilar supplies energy storage solutions for residential, industrial and commercial buildings. In the future, Nilar intends to provide solutions for infrastructure projects such as energy storage for grid support (e.g EV charging). Nilar uses a long-proven nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) chemistry with water-based electrolyte, which generates environmental and safety benefits along with a competitive price point over the life cycle of the systems.

The Company is headquartered in Täby, Sweden, and production is currently carried out exclusively in the high-tech facility in Gävle, where the Company’s research and development also takes place. The Company is currently expanding the capacity of its production facility in Gävle by installing new production lines and improving the efficiency of the lines currently in place.

Over the past years, Nilar has been and still is in a great growth phase, ramping up production towards increased demand. The offer and listing of Nilar on the stock exchange is another big step for the company´s further development. The procurement and logistics team need to expand with a global strategic buyer, a key role in enabling the capacity for further growth.
 
Reporting to the procurement manager, you will be focused on keeping and developing supply base, material cost and supplier performance at a high level. You initiate activities, drive and follow up the company's procurement work in close collaboration with management, colleagues in logistics and production and R & D. You handle negotiations, supplier audits and ensure Nilar's raw material and component supply in the short and long term. The job scope is broad and you get a great opportunity to contribute with your ideas and experiences of successful framework and best practice within the field. You will be based in Gävle or Täby and we estimate the annual travel frequency to around 70 days per year, mainly to suppliers in Europe and Asia.
 
 
Your background

• Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant industry, working as a strategic buyer with similar tasks.
• Engineering degree or similar.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, in both Swedish and English. Mandarin is meriting.
• An interest in combining technical and commercial aspects.
• Desire to work in a local business in a global network.
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach, analytical and results oriented skills are highly valued
