Strategic Development drives the corporate strategy development and capital allocation. With the strategy as base, we facilitate development of asset strategies and new business models in close collaboration with the Business Areas, that make the strategy real. R&D is a key enabler in our work with business development. Furthermore, we drive the sustainability and environment management and are responsible for ensuring that Vattenfall is constantly improving in these areas – and that sustainability is an integrated part of our corporate strategy.

Vattenfall has made a strong commitment and in order to deliver on our bold ambitions we are looking to strengthen our corporate environmental team within Vattenfall’s strategic function. The team currently consists of around 15 environmental professionals from different backgrounds. We are an open and engaged group working in an existing international environment.
We are now looking for a passionate strategic environmental advisor.
As our strategic environmental advisor you will be a part of driving multi-stakeholder projects within the areas of climate, biodiversity and sustainable use of resources. You will have an important role in in the transition to a fossil free society and you will work in an organization where you are able to use your knowledge to impact towards a more sustainable future. As a strategic advisor you will be in a position where you have the possibilities to influence Vattenfall’s direction and make a meaningful impact.
Your main tasks:
Be a part of developing new solutions and drive cross-organizational environmental projects e.g. initiatives within circular economy, LCA, decarbonizing supply chain etc. You will be a part of the team that are accountable for the Environmental Strategic Project portfolio
Act as interface to relevant internal and external stakeholders. You will secure cross-organizational collaborations and interaction within the whole Vattenfall Group, seek new ways to collaborate with external partners and be responsible of various communication activities
Closely follow and evaluate developments within the environmental field and incorporate your knowledge and insights into the projects you are involved in
Analyze business case and effects of projects in order to unlock new business opportunities

Qualifications
You as a person
You have a true passion for environmental and sustainability topics. You are motivated by challenges and are solution oriented. Your personality will most likely be described as self-motivated, result-driven, structured and you have the ability to prioritize and plan realistically. You are able to motivate others to work towards a common goal and you have developed stakeholder management that enables you to anchor your ideas effectively. You also have strong verbal and written communication skills and an outgoing personality that is aligned with our principles: Active, Open, Positive and Safety.
Qualifications:
Relevant bachelor or master degree (e.g. Environmental, Natural Science or Engineering Discipline) or similar
Proven knowledge within and passion for environmental topics
Experience in a similar position in an international environment, preferable in consultancy companies or within corporate strategy/sustainability/environment
Experience in project management and agile ways of working
Communication skills (i.e. convey ideas, information and messages effectively to different stakeholders)
A proven track record to meet deliverables and timelines within cross functional teams that not report directly to you
Fluent oral and written English and a good command of Swedish

Problem solving skills

Location: Preferably Stockholm (Solna). Other Vattenfall main locations can be discussed. Travelling will be required.
