Strategic Initiative Developer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Artificial intelligence is transforming society. AI Sweden is the national center for applied artificial intelligence, jointly funded by the Swedish government and our partners, both public and private. Our mission is to accelerate the use of AI for the benefit of our society, our competitiveness, and for everyone living in Sweden.

We are now looking for Strategic Initiative Developers to join us in taking the next steps building a new and collaborative research environment providing AI research and innovation beyond state of the art.

Application deadline: February 28

About the position
In this role you will develop, lead and coordinate strategic initiatives at AI Sweden. You are the one identifying high impact business, societal or technical challenges and opportunities converting them into projects.

You will work with our current strategic initiatives as well as develop new ones. Our current strategic initiatives is within Natural Language Understanding, Decentralized AI and Information Driven Healthcare. We are currently in an early stage looking into additional areas such as AI for space applications, complex systems management, and privacy preserving AI. An essential part of your daily work will be to promote and facilitate collaboration across organisations and develop strategic partnerships. - a curious learner and problem solver.
- equipped with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- adaptive and enjoy working in an agile environment.
- committed to making a real difference by enabling our partners to make use of AI.
- a generalist rather than a specialist, meaning that you don’t need to be an AI expert but believe in its potential.

And workwise, you’re
- able to conceptualize ideas, develop and scope applied research- and innovation projects, and apply for funding when needed.
- able to quickly understand different domains, organizations and their challenges and act as a bridge between domain experts and technical experts.
- curious and interested in AI methods, systems, and how they can be applied.
- good at writing, primarily in English but preferably also in Swedish.
- comfortable presenting and pitching ideas at meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences.
- good at developing and maintaining strategic partnerships.

You probably have a couple of years working experience, preferably within different domains and organizations. With that said, your personality, commitment, and willingness to learn is what matters the most to us.

Why work for AI Sweden?

At AI Sweden, you’ll be part of a diverse and highly skilled team with inspiring colleagues all working with a higher purpose in mind than “just” tech. Journalists, linguists, policy professionals, leading AI scientists, historians, entrepreneurs, change leaders, and many more.

As an organization, we’re uniquely positioned at the sweet spot of governmental oomph and startup nimbleness. Small enough to stay adaptive and have fun but backed by and in close contact with both state and industry, both private and public. A hybrid, just like you.

And, we can most certainly be a platform helping you realize your ideas. Bring a good one, big or small, and we most likely will support and co-create with you.

In short, we like to believe we offer our staff a place to grow, an environment for personal development.

An equal and fair working environment
We strongly believe in diversity and inclusion and are acutely aware of the skewed gender balance in our industry. We actively strive to put together a diverse team in terms of age, gender, and background.

Naturally, we’re under a collective agreement (“kollektivavtal”) and offer everything that comes with it in terms of annual leave, pensions, wellness allowance (“friskvårdsbidrag”), and such.
