What do we offer?
We are a Shared Service within Solution & Architect Team and Vehicle Tophat Solution. Together with our colleagues in the ARTs we are working in and agile environment, bringing new challenges to our daily work as well as a lot of possibilities. We as a Shared Service are responsible for developing all interior Surface Materials in our cars, such as textiles, leather, tricot plastic, foils, carpets, colours, chrome and decos. Both strategic work and implementing in the different car programs are performed by us.
Now we are looking for no less than three Material Developers to our teams. We need one Material Engineer being responsible for Strategic development of our decos. Mostly performed in wood, aluminium and plastic. We also need a Material Engineer being responsible for Strategic development of our foils (mostly TPO foil and PU spray) and grains. For both these roles we are looking for senior co-workers with experience from material development. In addition to that we also need a Material Engineer for our implementation Team that will develop several types of materials in our programs.
What will you do?
As a Strategic Material Developer within Surface Materials you will have the responsibility to look in to our future solutions for decos, foil and grain. You will be working in our Material Portfolio to quality secure your material so it will be ready to bring in to a project.
You will work with strategic development plans, commodity business plans and task forces when needed.
As a Material Developer within Surface Materials’ implementation team you will have the responsibility to finalize the development of the materials in our projects. You will lead the colour development and secure the industrialization and release a quality secured P-master.
All roles are working close together with the Development teams, Design, Procurement, and our Material Suppliers.
Your main tasks will be:
• Delivery of materials and masters with correct appearance and haptic to our new car programs
• Contact and cooperation with suppliers and system designers (e.g. instrument panel designer)
• You will work together in cross functional teams with the component owners or other teams where your specific material will be used.
• Work together with Product Design
• Administrate the Technical documentations (drawings, Technical requirements etc)
• Making and keeping time plans of the deliveries
• Constantly work with developing our processes to be more efficient and World Class within your area
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in all these roles we believe you have an University degree, preferably within material science/engineering and/or relevant work-life experience from the technical field. In addition, since you will work in a global setting, we expect you to be fluent in English.
Competence and experience are important, but personality is key! As a member in our team you have to be motivated and self-propelled with a high level of curiosity for new technologies within surface materials. You need high level of communication and presentation skills, inspiring people around you. For you, deadlines are actually deadlines and you take pride in delivering on time. Also, you have to be analytic and structured and have a good sense for both technical and strategic work.
• University Degree within materials technology, or equivalent experience
• Previous work experience within relevant area
• A good colour sight/vision
• Good knowledge in English, both oral and written
