About this opportunity
Seize the opportunity to join IPR & Licensing and work on key IPRs (Intellectual Property Rights) covering infrastructure interfaces In this position you will contribute to creating sustainable long-term business advantages and ensure the results from our R&D investments are accurately captured, protected and monetized.
Join a world-leading and interdisciplinary team responsible for the creation, management and utilization of an industry-leading patent portfolio of 60,000 granted patents. Our patent portfolio reflects Ericsson’s sustained technology and product leadership. At Ericsson, we Imagine Possible which is partly manifested through our heavy investments in R&D, amounting to more than 47 billion SEK in 2022.
In this role you will have the opportunity to define the strategic direction of a portfolio of inventions, patent applications and granted patents covering Radio Access Network interfaces. You work with a team of while at the same time having a clear responsibility and accountability for reaching the strategic objectives.
What you will do
In this position, you will secure that Ericsson create, refine and maintains a strategic portfolio of patents covering key Radio Access Network interfaces.
This responsibility includes, for example:
Ensure an aligned strategy across the infra-internal interfaces, including migration towards 6G
Drive claim charting towards long-term strategies and goals to ensure Ericsson holds a relevant patent portfolio
Coordinate between the standard IPR portfolios to ensure a good overall IPR coverage for RAN infrastructure IPR
Support current and future IPR monetization initiatives and strategies within the area (primarily with regards to O-RAN and 3GPP infrastructure interfaces)
Support and align with Ericsson Business Area Networks' infrastructure strategies and needs
You will bring
An academic degree such as a Master or PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics.
Knowledge in the patent creation process and preferably the capability to support patent development throughout the prosecution and patent lifetime. Having experience from Ericsson's claim chart process and some experience in performing analysis on Ericsson and 3rd party patents.
Moreover, you should have a proven willingness to explore working with IPR in complex and commercial contexts.
