Who you are
You are energized by working both independently and interdependently with communication and other functions/ units and have an interest in following communication trends, turning them into practice. Furthermore, you are passionate about communication as a business enabler and about leading, inspiring, and developing people.
You have good knowledge of developing plans evolving company strategies and of leading with communication across consumer, co-worker, and stakeholder audiences.
Additionally, you possess good knowledge of communications for international organisations that operate centrally.
You have the ability to easily support and influence senior business leaders and colleagues, always based on performance and insights with the business goals and co-workers in focus. You are a skilled coach and facilitator and are having a proactive attitude in problem-solving and a hands-on approach. You are able to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of communication as an integrated part of the business.
Further, what you need:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant communication experience at global companies that operate centrally
• Experience in insight-driven creative development
• Experience in working with strategic business planning
• Strong documented leadership skills
• Strong documented project management skills
• Experience with leading in change
• Proven advanced training in strategic communication and/ or business leadership or equivalent
• Preferred: Knowledge of IKEA brand, culture, values, and ways of working
Your responsibilities
As a Strategic Planning Leader, you drive the development of the Group Communication plan and formulate strategies that support and introduce solutions for strategic issues. You support Group Communication to reach its goals and targets by suggesting changes and improvements to current business plans and strategies. You are representing Group Communication in appropriate forums, relevant meetings and working groups to ensure alignment with the overall strategic landscape and business planning.
You contribute with inputs and expertise in the communication planning process, driving alignment with other Ingka departments and IKEA organisations. You are leading the process for creating the Ingka Group Communication annual plan including goals setting, follow-up and performance reporting. Further, you are responsible for developing tools and building competence around strategic planning, for the Ingka Communication Matrix in close collaboration with the Performance Leader and the Knowledge and Development Leader.
Some of your main responsibilities also include:
• Align with key Group Communication-related areas, to present a holistic perspective during the global communication planning process (both strategically and operationally)
• Identify, in collaboration with Group Communication team members, the key positioning initiatives that need strategic planning briefing support to increase effectiveness and efficiency towards reaching Group Communication goals in line with objectives.
• Ensure communication objectives and initiatives are well anchored and understood by the management team, the markets, and other relevant stakeholders
• Support, coach, and develop members of the Communication team, promoting best practices and continually benchmarking against industry standards
• Actively engage and partner with other functions within Ingka Group and other IKEA businesses in order to enable cross-functional collaboration and achieve common goals
This role is a permanent contract and will be located in Malmö, Sweden.
