Strategic Procurement Lead

Our customer provides technologies to enable a greener maritime industry.

Since 2010, they have been at the forefront of maritime emissions reduction, working closely with ship-owners, yards, and naval architects as partners in our effort to drive the change towards sustainable shipping. Today, the company offers a portfolio of green technologies, such as SOx scrubbers, fuel optimization systems, turnkey shore power solutions, and the cutting-edge, advanced wind-assisted propulsion system WindWings. They are headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices in Sweden, Poland, and China.

Do you want help us to promote a healthy planet for future generations? We are now looking for a Strategic Procurement Lead who will strengthen our Supply Chain department. This position reports to the Procurement Manager.

Main responsibilities:

The Strategic Procurement Lead is main responsible for our strategic development of our suppliers and for implementing procurement contract strategies for all business lines. This includes the areas of procurement contracts, sourcing of suppliers and to strategically select suppliers that best support our businesses. You aim to secure that our suppliers deliver quality, cost efficiency and on time deliveries thru professional contracts, agreements and strong relationships.

You will advise and support internal stakeholders regarding contract terms and conditions, applicable policies and procedures, as well as best practices to advance business objectives. The position will require travelling to some extent.

Main areas in this role will be:

- Responsible for setting contracts with our suppliers.
- Responsible for agreements with third parties (sponsors & vendors).
- Ensure quality related to suppliers and deliveries.
- Create engagement and long-term relations with our suppliers.
- Identify and communicate potential risks related to contracts, legal and business decisions.


Background and skills

You have experience in the fields described above and feel confident that you can contribute on a strategic level. We believe that you have a track record of strategic development of suppliers and of setting contract strategies.

You have the ability to review, analyze and assess risk, as well as summarize findings for standard and non-standard contractual agreements. You also have an understanding of risk reduction strategies to make sustainable arguments during negotiations or issue resolution. Your background probably contains:

- University degree in Supply chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience of negotiating, contracting and securing quality assurance for deliveries (preferably with world leading companies).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic work similar to what is described in this ad.
- Previous business experience from maritime, process or other applicable industry.
- Working knowledge of relevant business systems, SAP preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with geographically dispersed teams.
