ValueOne is recruiting a Strategic Procurement Manager for our customer Saab Aeronautics, Aviation Services in Linköping. The role involves commercial responsibility for project procurement and contract management of suppliers mainly related to airborne surveillance suppliers and civil aircraft platforms. The role
The Strategic Procurement Manager is commercially responsible for project procurement and contract management of major suppliers related to airborne surveillance suppliers and civil aircraft platforms. You are to balance total cost with availability over time, in consideration of applicable requirements and in line with established goals and strategies.
As Strategic Procurement Manager you will be a member of the Sourcing and Supply Department that is responsible for purchasing, project follow-up and supply chain capability within Business Unit Aviation Services. Our support stretches from design and production of Saabs latest airborne surveillance product, the GlobalEye AEW&C to supporting the remaining civil Regional Aircraft fleet of Saab 340 and 2000 in operation.
Main tasks:
Participate as procurement representative in product development and relevant projects/processes
Negotiate and conclude supplier agreements
Place and manage development Purchase Orders up to approved product (FAI)
Be the prime commercial contact towards suppliers within assigned product area/project
Lead, coordinate and serve as escalation level for supplier teams and define and evaluate supplier strategies
Monitor and develop supplier performance in line with established goals, requirements and applicable airworthiness requirements
Monitor and manage supplier risks
Monitor obsolescence status of supported products
Manage and develop agreements and relation with suppliers
Communicate supplier agreements internally and secure that established agreements are updated and used
Monitor supplier markets and evaluate new potential suppliers
Manage procurement offset possibilities and requirements towards prioritized customer countries
You are expected to travel approximately three days every 1-1,5 month within eastern Europe and the American continent.
Experience and competencies
To become relevant for the position we like you to have a university level background in engineering, economics and/or law. This could be compensated by a similar high-school education and 5-10 years of experience within a corresponding role in a large-scale organization.
Experience of negotiation and contract writing with international suppliers is essential to succeed. You also need to be proficient in and able to work independently with market analysis, procurement, business assessment and cost- and risk analysis. Very good command of English and Swedish, verbally and in writing, is a must. Preferably you have a solid background in strategic purchasing of technical systems or product support solutions and 5-10 years of experience within a large-scale organization in high-level industrial products. We expect you to have knowledge in ERP system and other support systems.
The role demands advanced cooperation and communication skills and a high capacity to acquire, apply and share knowledge. You are an enduring team player with capacity to drive a working process forward. Furthermore, your excellent networking capability makes you able to carry out long term development of strategic business relationships.
