Strategic Purchaser

We are strengthening our Global Procurement team with a Strategic Purchaser. You will be strategically responsible for selected categories including development and implementation of purchasing strategies as well as responsibility for suppliers within the category. This position is critical to the support of the corporate year-over-year annual cost improvement goals and Supplier Risk Management.
The position will also have responsibility for managing stakeholder relationships externally with suppliers and with various business functions internally as Operations, R&D, Finance, Sales and Marketing etc. The goal is to build those relationships in order to understand their supply base needs to be able to pair our internal customer needs with supplier solutions to ensure a sustainable competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies for selected categories and be HemoCue’s point of contact for the suppliers in these categories
Negotiate supplier contracts for Direct and/or Indirect Materials
Total Cost of Ownership for selected categories
Supply Relationship Management & Development for suppliers in selected categories
Supply Risk Management for selected categories
Participate in New Product Development projects to drive Supplier selection and material cost optimization
Contribute to fulfillment of Key Performing Indicator
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to continuously improve processes and tools and to contribute to the fulfillment of HemoCue’s strategic targets

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree engineering or logistics
At least 5 years’ experience as a Strategic Purchaser or Sourcing Engineer
Strong negotiating and analysis skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English
Knowledge about standards and/or regulations affecting the quality management system e.g. ISO 13485/US FDA Quality System Regulation
Knowledge about standards and/or regulations affecting the environmental management system e.g. ISO 14001
Knowledge about regulations affecting financial process e.g. SOX
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, decisions and activities also in the
absence of formal authority
Strong skills in influence without authority
Ability & experience interfacing at all levels of the organization
Ability to articulate clear vision and convey a sense of urgency
Result- and action-oriented
Complete the profile a team centric, persistent, systematic, analytical, flexible attitude
