Working as a strategic purchaser:
Working as an experienced/strategic purchaser, or as we call it, Sourcing Manager, means that you are responsible for purchasing products and components in a specific segment:
• Powertrain & Chassis
• Cab, Electronics & Electrification
• General Purchasing
• Customized solutions
You will work strategically, developing and implementing purchasing strategies and activities. You work cross-functionally with different contacts in other departments within Scania and externally together within Traton, Volkswagen and suppliers.
Example of work tasks for a purchaser:
• Prepare and lead negotiations with suppliers and negotiating contracts
• Manage and develop the supplier base
• Secure cost optimizations
• Administrative tasks such as ordering and issuing orders, RFQ, updating price lists and more.
• Give presentations in various purchasing forums
Your Profile:
To thrive with us, you are a prestigeless and solution-oriented team player. You have a passion for business with the ability to discover and evaluate various commercial opportunities. You need to be responsible, driven and have a positive attitude. You should also be able to independently plan your flow to ensure good delivery precision.
We also see that you have:
• A few years’ experience as an operational or strategic purchaser
• An academic or other relevant education is an advantage
• Fluent knowledge of English in speech and writing
• Swedish is a merit
• Having worked in a global purchasing organization is an advantage
