Strategic Purchaser - Business Developer
IKEA Components, Älmhult

As a Strategic Purchaser within Plastics raw materials and Chemical raw materials, you will contribute in developing raw materials optimized for the IKEA range, in the virgin, recycled and renewable field.

You will build and maintain relations with raw material suppliers from the petrochemical industry, recycling and compounding industry. You will also work together with IKEA supply chain to create one common IKEA agenda in the meeting with Raw material suppliers. The main goal is securing excellence in running operations by optimizing the purchasing possibilities. Furthermore you will participate in creating an efficient supplier structure.

Is this the right challenge for you?
In order to succeed you need to have experience from tactical and operational purchase, working with developing a supplier base, preferably within the raw material industry. It is a plus if you have expertise in different upstream value chains and feedstocks for raw materials. As a person you must have good communication skills since the job contains a lot of different contacts with different functions both IKEA-internal and external contacts. It is also important that you are business minded and have some technical/chemical knowledge. You are an independent self starter with persistence in pursuing goals despite obstacles. Spoken and written English is required.
