Working as an experienced strategic purchaser or as we call it, a Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for the sourcing of products or services according to the company’s needs at the best achievable Cost, Quality, Delivery and Sustainability while considering the latest available Technology.
Role description
We now seek a Sourcing Manager to take on the purchasing responsibility of External Testing Services within the Industrial operations at Scania. You will be part of finding new solutions and suppliers to support the introduction of new technology and to secure our external test capacity connected to both conventional trucks and buses as well as to our BEVs and new E-mobility solutions.
Your main task will be creating strategic sourcing plans and activities to manage the demands, secure competitiveness and deliver precision. You will be an active part in different cross-functional forums and work in close cooperation with our colleagues at R&D securing optimal flows, mitigating risks, and avoiding deviations. You will also be preparing and executing presentations for Scania’s and Traton Group’s sourcing committees.
In your role, you will be;
• Drive, coordinate and implement sourcing activities within your area of responsibility/segments
• Investigate and develop improvement activities to boost competitiveness within the current supplier base
• Actively developing existing and future suppliers in keeping up with Scania’s high standards.
Your profile
We’re looking for candidates who are professional, structured and results-oriented. You are an engineer or industrial economist with a few years of professional experience as a purchaser and are able to work both independently and within the team.
You’re well organized and can manage short term actions without losing focus on achieving long term objectives. You are a driven team player, have a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills along with being able to establish good relations, and collaboration, with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
A technical understanding and interest, preferably within the Testing area, and previous experience and knowledge from global business are merit.
