Arbetsbeskrivning
Are you a skilled Strategic Purchaser who combines strategy with a commercial outlook? Someone who’s ready to join us in setting the scene in this area as we’re building something new? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you! For a new set up in Gimo, we’re now hiring two collaborative sourcing professionals.
Gimo is a great place to work, just a short stop from cities like Uppsala, Stockholm and Gävle. Our production site is a renowned high technology facility with major focus on sustainability. We’re also a market-leading manufacturer of products for metal cutting, and we employ over 1 400 brilliant minds. Development is in our DNA and we’re proud to create solutions that truly shape the future of manufacturing!
About the job
In this central position, you act in close alliance with our production; identifying, preparing, proposing, managing and leading selected sourcing projects that involves cross-functional teams, and you develop efficient strategies for the category within your area of responsibility. A vital step in this is developing a strategic and sustainable supplier base, both locally and globally. To achieve this, you handle strategic purchasing decisions, major investments and supplier agreements in alignment with our corporate guidelines. You take responsibility for the entire process – from initiating contact with new suppliers, to negotiating, implementing and following up on contracts. Monitoring local and global supply markets, interpreting market intelligence and developing supplier profiles for strategic and approved suppliers are other parts of your mission. Measuring and following-up on performance with your designated category is also an important key.
To make sure we stay on top of our games, you build and maintain relationships with both key stakeholders and suppliers, and you cooperate with other BAs’ and Divisions’ purchasing organizations to coordinate and enable effective communication with common suppliers.
About you
We expect you to be someone with a proven background in strategic purchasing in an international manufacturing industry, and also with a couple of years’ commercial experience. You’re a skilled negotiator who’s known to effectively lead teams and projects towards success, and you’re a star when it comes to stakeholder management. As we’re a global player with local attachment, you need to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, and it’s also important that you understand and make yourself understood in Swedish. A relevant university degree may come handy, though it’s your experience, skills and character that really matters.
You enjoy working in a wide-ranging setting where you cover the details as well as the bigger picture, and with a structured end-to-end perspective, you deliver results. You have a high level of self-motivation and know what it takes to lead a team – and a category – towards success. You’re driven, outgoing and negotiate agreements with a confident, yet humble, approach and easily communicate with stakeholders at all levels - from shop floor to top management.
We honestly believe that our diversities lead to a successful business environment, and we’re looking forward to meeting you. Meanwhile, if you want to know more about Sandvik Coromant, we recommend a visit on our website, LinkedIn or Facebook page.
