Support and Services, a business area of Saab, supplies a wide range of services and integrated support solutions to customers in defence and on commercial markets for cost-efficient support of systems and platforms throughout their life cycle. Our business units and areas cover a complete ability and capacity to develop, modify and maintain the products of our civilian and military customers.
Our expanding business unit, with several crucial ongoing projects and prospects, needs to expand the sourcing department with several strategic purchasers. This role will offer the possibility to work on a high technical level with the most highly qualified system procurements at Saab and with long-term relationships with international suppliers/partners. Our business unit is expanding which gives the opportunity to influence both content and execution of our work.
Within the Saab group, we cooperate regarding category management, supplier relations, cost reduction, supply chain and development of tools for the purchasing process. Opportunities for company-wide purchase training are also available.
High service level, communication and cooperation are key words in our objective to satisfy the needs of our customers.
Din framtida utmaning
Your main tasks as a strategic purchaser will be sourcing and supplier development, including contract and price negotiations with national and international suppliers. You will lead procurement related activities within the projects and have responsibility to ensure new suppliers for our different projects. The work requires both establishing and maintaining of long-term relationships with suppliers and partners. You will also be involved in the continuous development of our methods and tools.

You have a solid background in strategic purchasing of technical systems with several years of negotiation and contract work experience with international suppliers. To succeed in your role, you have to be able to act independently in these duties and take own necessary initiatives regarding supplier choices for example.
You work strategically with a high focus on the customer’s needs and satisfaction. You are a good listener who creates trust. You also have good project management skills.
Your educational background is probably at university level within engineering, economics and/or law. Excellent skills in English and Swedish, verbal as well as in writing are required.
The position is based in Linköping.
