The Category Management & Sourcing team is a core part of the Mediq value chain with responsibility for ensuring a competitive and differentiated product portfolio via establishment and maintenance of supplier partnerships. The team has the responsibility for ensuring competitiveness via ongoing supplier collaboration and negotiations. Working across all parts of the Mediq organization, the team is the natural focal point for the transformation journey to become a leading healthcare solution and service provider in Europe.
As Strategic Sourcing Lead in Category Management & Sourcing, you will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction and secure a competitive position for selected customer segments across Nordics, Baltics & UK, and in collaboration with the Category Managers and Sourcing team, develop and implement sourcing projects and negotiations across all business units. You will be a central part of a team of currently 17 people in the Category Management & Sourcing, executing initiatives across the categories Ostomy, Diabetes, Nutrition, Incontinence care, Diagnostics, and Surgical and orthodontic.
Main responsibilities
Deliver continuous competitiveness via ongoing supplier management
Develop and lead Mediq’s supplier negotiation pipeline
Translate category strategies into supplier cost optimization initiatives with tangible deliverables
Negotiate with suppliers
Be an integrated Sourcing partner to the business units and collaborate with key employees to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the organization
Execute tenders following a structured fact-based process
Analyze RFP/RFQ data, manage the decision-making process and award business based on objective, pre-aligned criteria and scoring matrix.

To be successful in the role, you will typically have most of these qualifications
A strong Sourcing and Procurement toolbox as well as skills in “reading” the market
Experienced with complex negotiations
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
Ability to develop strategic supplier relationships into partnerships
Strong in decision-making and problem solving
Ability to communicate effectively
