Strategy and Business Development are looking for a Strategy Advisor to be a driving force in key strategic and business development projects.
From a unique perspective in Vattenfall, you will develop a deep understanding of our company’s strategic direction and how decisions are driven.
Working in S&BD will give you a broad understanding of the energy industry and opportunity to develop your career, grow problem solving, communication and leadership skills.

The opportunity
Help drive Vattenfall’s annual strategic process and guide the organization, by facilitating decision making in the c-suite and board of directors. You will be part of the dynamic team responsible for creating Vattenfall’s group plans and helping ensure Vattenfall is a leader in the energy transition. Responsibilities include, breaking down and structuring analysis for complex strategic issues within Vattenfall, synthesising key insights and developing close working relationships with leadership.
You will be expected to take a leading role in driving projects of strategic significance that are becoming increasingly complex and uncertain and may span Vattenfall’s 6 businesses. By breaking down, structuring and solving problems, you will help Vattenfall make vital decisions. You will need to harness support for projects from key stakeholders and utilise expertise from across Vattenfall to help you succeed. You will also practice leadership and coach colleagues in an agile setup.
An essential part of Vattenfall’s strategy is to develop a fossil free society and there will also be opportunity to drive business development projects from early ideas to commercial business. You will join the team finding, realizing and maximizing long term partnerships. Responsibilities will include analysis work, developing market studies and building business cases. Recent partnerships to build on or emulate, include collaborations that aim to produce fossil free hydrogen.

Your qualities
3+ years of relevant experience as management consultant (energy industry/sector is a merit)
A record of leading and driving projects
Ability to analyse and develop business opportunities
Structured and skilled in solving strategic, complex problems
Strong analytical skills, comfortable with complex data sets as well as making back of the envelope calculations
Accomplished critical thinker and strategic decision maker
Excellent communication skills to convey complex strategic plans simply and also a compelling storyteller
The ability to connect and engage across Vattenfall
Strong interpersonal skills
Inclusive, encouraging and a team player

Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) is part of Staff Function Strategic Development at corporate level in Vattenfall. We exist to accelerate Vattenfall’s transition towards its goal, fossil free living within one generation. There are four functions in S&BD; Market Insights develop scenarios, provide a deep understanding of main energy industry trends; Group Strategy, are responsible for ensuring Vattenfall is a leader in the energy transition and a thriving business today and in the future; Business Development, find and realize new business opportunities that will enable fossil-free living in one generation; and Asset Owner Support, focus on internal collaboration and creating value for Vattenfall’s asset owning businesses.
