Company Description
Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK. The Vattenfall Group has approximately 20,000 employees. We have been electrifying industries, powering homes and transforming life through innovation for more than 100 years. We now want to make fossil free living possible within one generation and we are driving the transition to a sustainable energy system.
Job Description
Do you want to take part in shaping a fossil-free future? If so, Vattenfall is looking for you!
Vattenfall has made a strong commitment to make fossil-free living within one generation possible, and to help limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. We do this by supplying fossil-free and renewable electricity and heat to customers and communities across northern Europe, and by innovating with industry partners to deliver fossil-free products such as green steel and synthetic jet fuel. Our ambition is to have impact beyond our size.
In order to deliver on this bold ambition, we are looking to strengthen the strategy team at the corporate level (Group Strategy) with a Strategy Advisor.
From a unique perspective in Vattenfall, close to the top management team, you will develop a deep understanding of our company’s business portfolio and how decisions are driven.
Working on strategically significant projects will give you the opportunity to develop your career, grow your problem solving, communication and leadership skills and energy industry expertise.
You will be part of a strong team with smart, supportive and driven colleagues, and work closely with senior executives and business leaders across Vattenfall.
The opportunity
You will be part of the Group Strategy team and work beside Vattenfall’s executive leadership and business leaders to evolve the long-term strategic direction for the Vattenfall Group. The Group Strategy team interfaces with a broad network of colleagues across Vattenfall – from strategy teams in our six Business Areas to experts in Finance, Procurement, R&D and other Staff Functions - with the ultimate goal to drive strategic topics through analysis, project work and workshop facilitation and together bring insightful decision material to the Executive Group Management (EGM) and the Board of Directors.
As a Strategy Advisor, you will be an ambassador for strategic topics, help drive Vattenfall’s group-wide strategy process and support keeping this complex and highly strategic task on track. You will help create and implement the suggested direction for the group by synthesising, story lining and communicating strategic information to stakeholders throughout Vattenfall in a concise way. Building relationships and trust on all levels in the organisation is key, motivating internal stakeholders to move in the same direction.
You will get the opportunity to deep-dive into key strategic issues in Vattenfall, structure and analyse business problems, collaborate with topic experts and align your analysis with Vattenfall business leaders. By providing clear argumentation, key insights and with Vattenfall’s overall picture in mind, you will contribute to a clear direction for Vattenfall and ensure we stay a leader in the energy transition.
