Our products, Skeldar V-150 and V-200, are both UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) platforms developed for the military and civilian market worldwide. For this position, we are looking for an experienced Stress Engineer who wants take an extra responsibility for the UAS stress related topics. You will work on both products which means that you will also be a part of the development process in Switzerland.
In the position as a Stress Engineer, the main task is to perform strength, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses together with the Design Engineers to define the optimum design solution. You will belong to one of our four teams in the development department, which today consists of a total of about 50 employees in different disciplines. The position offers a varied and stimulating work with a high-tech product in an industry that is growing fast. Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the products fulfils all requirements of static strength, fatigue and damage tolerance
- Develop design solutions together with all concerned parties and competences, considering all aspects such as weight, production method, choice of material and cost
- Specify and evaluate verification tests
- Identify and propose improvements in functionality, manufacturability, and customer benefit.
- Participate in conceptual studies in order to define design proposals
- Participate in identification of maintenance and repair requirements
- Support the Production Organization with problem solution of stress related issues in prototype and series production
- Support the Flight Organization with problem solution of stress related issues that occurs during flight operation.
Qualifications:
- University degree within relevant area
- At least five years experience within stress engineering
- Great knowledges within matlab and hyperworks
- Good ability to clearly communicate in English and Swedish at a technical level, both in writing and verbally
- Extra meritorious: Experience working with Loads and flutter
- Important personal characteristics: Ability to work together, problem solving and a self-driven attitude.
