Kongsberg Automotive AB in Mullsjö is part of the Kongsberg Automotive group. The product development within Kongsberg Automotive is subject to global competition, with high demands on our performance. As a Structural Engineer you will be part of a creative team of approximately 75 engineers working with mechanics and electronics. Our objective is to be in the global frontline of our product ranges. In our designs we use a great deal of advanced injection-molded plastic parts, in combination with steel and other materials. Electronics and mechatronics have also an increasing impact on our designs. Having global customers and suppliers means a great portion of international contacts. You will be a part of the Analysis & Simulation functional team as a specialist within Structural Optimization and Finite Element Analysis were you shall gain knowledge about the strengths and critical regions of our products and compare the effect of design changes, continuously through the process of product design. The optimization and structural analyses shall contribute to decrease the development time, cost and reduce product weight. Structural optimizations are made using the optimization solver OptiStruct, FE-analyses using the FE-solver Radioss, with HyperMesh as pre-processor and HyperView as post-processor. All these programs are part of the HyperWorks programs. Finite Element Analysis is also made using MSC software Marc, Mentat and Patran. We are looking for applicants who -are experienced in working in projects, taking great personal responsibility and have a good ability to collaborate and communicate. -in addition to a solid theoretical knowledge also show applied skills in technology. -have the ability to work in a structured and independent way taking full responsibility of method development to secure and create technical advancement. -are committed to your tasks and have high focus and interest to improve and implement Optimization Driven Design. -have a solution driven approach and a positive attitude. Experience of Structural Analysis using Finite Element Analysis and Structural Optimization such as Topology optimization and free shape optimization, preferably from the automotive industry, is desired. Experience from plastic components and knowledge of polymer materials are also qualifying. Good knowledge of Swedish is preferred, and knowledge of other languages such as German, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean is also valued.
