A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Structural Dynamics Engineer within the R&D department you will contribute to the design of robust, reliable, and highly efficient products in our portfolio of gas turbines, heat pumps, and to some extent steam turbines. You will responsible to drive the innovation and technology within your area and challenge yourself and your colleagues in our strive to a better future!
How You’ll Make an Impact
* Be responsible for blade dynamic assessments, which are essential in the development process from concept phase to prototyping and final design, as well as within root cause analyses, and as input to aeroelastic and forced response calculations.
* Conduct High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) lifing maximising assessments based on modal analysis to ensure the structural integrity and reliability of components.
* Measurement evaluation including strain gauge and tip timing.
* In alignment with Siemens Energy´s vision to increase R&D effectiveness, you explore and implement optimization tools as well as develop new methods and ways of working.
* On top of that, your multi-disciplinary collaborations will for example include the Aerodynamics, Mechanical Integrity and the Test department.
What You Bring
We believe that you are a motivated problem solver that is curious and have an urge to find answers. You are an active teammate that together with your colleagues work towards a more effective and efficient collaboration.
In addition, we think you have the following:
* A Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in structural dynamics, stress and life evaluations
* Experience in unsteady aerodynamics, and contact mechanics (damping, fretting, and/or rubbing) is meritorious.
* Proficiency in English. Swedish language skills is meritorious.
About the Team
We are a diverse R&D group consisting of highly skilled engineers who work within the areas of aeromechanics, aerodynamics, solid mechanics, structural dynamics and rotor dynamics. All in all we are 18 people working close to each other.
We are one of the departments in Finspång with most expertise and specialist, and we intend to keep it that way by challenge our self and each other!
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
