Your profile
* 5-10+ years of experience in the field of Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other Process Industry applications, achieved through combination of positions in Engineering, Proposals and/or R&D
* Demonstrable knowledge of Turbo Machinery Engineering processes, business software, and technology related to the mentioned responsibilities in relevant application fields for Industrial Applications Products – Gas Turbines (Small, Medium, or Aeroderivative); Turbo Compressors (STC, DATUM, or RF); Reciprocating Compressors; Steam Turbines; Packaging Design & Integration
* Peer-recognized for solving complex problems, developing new business processes, and demonstrating high professional judgement in ambiguous circumstances
* Software Command: NX, Teamcenter, COMOS
* Industry Standards Command: API 617, 614, 692
* Educational requirement: Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline or related field
Your responsibilities
This role is responsible to perform these functions on behalf of the allied Product Line, COE Department, and Manufacturing Network:
* As part of the ROA process in the RFQ Phase, and in case of significant deviations from proven or pre-designed formulations of the Product Line – assists Bid Management to assess and disposition non-standard project requirements, architects new concepts, summarizes the non-standard work scope for Demand Management to obtain special budgets from COE department team leaders, advises additional risk-mitigation measures to pursue in the other TM Functions (e.g. MFG, QM, PM, SCM), and gains an ROA approval by the allied Head of Product Line Engineering;
* Participates in workshops with TLM and TI Portfolio Management, and generates ideas for Design-to-Cost, Material Cost Productivity, and Value-Added Measure opportunities in the Product Lines and COE Departments, works in assigned implementation teams, and manages any measures that the MSSE is assigned to lead;
* Supports Non-Conformance investigations and 5WHY Root Cause Analyses, and applies his/her expertise to assist COE teams in developing Containment measures on Customer Projects;
* Guides any assigned Corrective and Preventive Actions, ensures a consequent follow-up on lessons learned in the Modular System, and shares best practices throughout TM Product Lines, TM Engineering, and the TM Manufacturing Network;
* Supports Procurement and Manufacturing in value chain development activities;
* Escalates Potential Product Safety cases to the Product Line’s Product Safety Specialist;
* Supports Risk Assessment and development of Risk Mitigation Measures that are conducted by the Product Line’s Product Safety Specialist;
* Supports the development of standard Comments & Exceptions to applicable Industry Standards (e.g. API);
* Assists the COE Head and other technical units (e.g. Front End Engineering and Bid Management) in assessing the workforce’s competencies, and designs and plans Product Line learning programs and cross-training;
The Specialist, Compressor Systems holds multi-disciplinary Engineering knowledge and experience in the application and execution of Turbo- and Reciprocating Compressor support systems like Lube oil -, Seal gas -, etc. used in the Industrial Applications Products. The Specialist, Compressor Systems advances the Engineering function and the associated Product Line(s), in dimensions of Material Cost Productivity (“Cost-out”), Value-added Measures (Engineering Productivity), Employee Learning, CAPA, Concept Design, Procurement best practices, and aiding Risk and Opportunity Assessment.
