About us
As Structural simulation engineer (FEM), you will be responsible to develop simulation methods within the structural and durability area for batteries and make sure models are validated. You will utilize the methods developed in the increasing number of battery electric vehicle projects. Within the Traction Battery area, we are now investing heavily in developing our analysis operations for batteries in terms of simulations and through developing our new battery labs.

What you will do
Your responsibilities as Structural simulation engineer will include development of simulation methods for structural parts of our batteries. This is handled in close cooperation with design and simulations engineers both internally and externally Volvo Cars.

Main responsibilities
* Develop and utilize structural simulation methods for traction batteries and its components
* Initiate tests and analyse results for validation of simulation methods developed
* Create technical documentation including reports 
* Coordinate external work e.g. with suppliers   


You and your skills
You are a team player with strong communications skills and ability to build great networks. You have broad interest and knowledge, especially in vehicle electrification. You have a strong analytical mindset with the ability to take vital actions when required. Your technical competence and your interaction with different teams created a great atmosphere for innovative solutions.

• Minimum Master’s degree in engineering, with focus on applied mechanics
• Minimum 3-5 years of work experience with FE simulations, tools used are Ansa, Abaqus, Nastran and LS-Dyna
• Documented skills with Python or Matlab  
• Experience in optimization would also be a merit.
