For our office in Stockholm we are looking for top talents to join the Structuring & Valuation department. The team specialises in the valuation in a wide range of energy contracts and providing support for originating energy deals.

You will be working in the Operational Unit Operations (OU). OU Operations is responsible for providing Analysis, IT, Energy Trading and Risk Management and Project Management support to the Vattenfall Assets and Trading Division - the mission is to enable business. OU Operations consists of highly skilled employees with backgrounds ranging from mathematics, engineering, economics, IT to project management.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as a Structuring Analyst


Development of valuation models for, for example, virtual power-plants and Asian options.
Pricing of structured contracts such as full requirements gas deals and wind power purchase agreements.
Supporting front office departments such as Sales, Origination and Trading by performing hands on operational tasks such as pricing deals
Giving customers insights into the value drivers for a deal and an understanding of the calculations behind valuations
Close cooperation with front office
Proactively seeking opportunities to constantly improve operational processes.



During an initial period you will do an exchange as an Intraday Power Trader at the trading-desk in our Nordic dispatch center. This includes trading on the intraday market but also day ahead & intraday optimization of Vattenfall’s Nordic Wind portfolio. Your time at the Intraday desk will be around 50% for the initial 3-6 months and then reduced to around 25% for the remaining time. Scheduled work will include working early mornings, late evenings and some weekends. Working at the intraday desk will give you a deep understanding about the fundamentals of the Nordic power market which will be valuable in your role as an analyst.

Our ideal Structuring Analyst has the following qualifications and capabilities


A curious and analytical mind. You enjoy thinking out of the box and taking own initiatives. You have the willingness to leave your comfort zone and learn new things.
Able to work with sophisticated mathematical models or are comfortable learning to do so. But at the same time, you are flexible enough to work on more straightforward analyses (such as crunching large amounts of data), if this is what is needed to support the business.
Natural communicator and have the willingness to have direct and frequent interaction with the front office (Sales, Origination, Trading). You are happy to take initiative in interacting with our customers.
Enthusiastic about working close with other members of the team – sharing ideas and developing models together.
Academic degree of a relevant quantitative/financial discipline, such as econometrics, engineering, mathematics, physics or similar
Programming knowledge – preferably Python
Fluent in English and preferably Swedish
