Student Assistant

Internationella Engelska Skolan in Årsta opened in 2017 and the school will be at capacity in 2020/21 with over 750  students . At IES our ethos is the foundation of how we perform and we are proud to have schools in Sweden which offer students bilingualism, high academic expectations and a safe and orderly environment. Our main goals are for students to feel safe and be challenged and be heard.  If you want to be part of our successful development we are looking for a full time student assistant to work with a grade 7 student starting in November 2020.

Required competencies and desired qualifications/experiences

The main duties of the Student Assistant are:

- Focus on one year 7 student during school days 
- Building positive relationships with the student 
- Supporting the student with his everyday activities;
- Communication between parents, teachers, student and external agencies
- Ensure that the student understands and completes work in class
- Encouraging a calm, safe orderly environment at all times
- Promote loyalty to the vision and values of the school

Skills

- Experience of working well with others or as part of a team
- Native Swedish and/or English (both preferable)
- Basic understanding of student care and pedagogy
- Training or equivalent of students with special needs
