Student assistant/elevassistent for Internationella Engelska Skolan in Sundbyberg

Internationella Engelska Skolan in Sundbyberg opened in 2018 and is expanding for the upcoming school year. In 2021 we will be fully expanded with a total of 864 students in grades 4-9. 

At IES our ethos is the foundation of how we perform and we are proud to have schools in Sweden which offer students bilingualism, high academic expectations and a safe and orderly environment. Since our start in Sundbyberg we have had excellent results in surveys from parents, teachers and students. If you want to be part of our successful development we are looking for a full time Student Assistant to start in August 2021.

Required competencies and desired qualifications/experiences

The main duties of the Student Assistant are:

- Focus on one or two students in the school during their school days
- Building positive relationships with the student 
- Supporting the students social interaction
- Supporting the student before, during and after the class ie to get ready and prepared for class, to explain the task during the lesson and to participate in group works with other students
- Communication between student care team, parents, teacher and student 
- Encouraging a calm, safe orderly environment at all times
- Ensure that students have clear guidelines on what is expected at the school
- Participate in the work with the Likabehandlingsplan/Equality Plan
- Promote loyalty to the vision and values of the school

Skills

- Experience of working well with others or as part of a team
- Bilingual with English and Swedish
- Basic understanding of student care and pedagogic 
- Training or equivalent of students with special needs

Behaviors

- Good communicator and relationship builder
- Structured and organized 
- Honest, reliable and trustworthy
- Calm

Clearance from the police register is essential.
