Student Assistant

Internationella Engelska Skolan Hässelby is looking for a Student Assistant to work together with a student who uses a wheelchair. The successful applicant will assist the student with their daily living activities at school which can include:

- Assistance with toileting
- Transfers to and from wheelchair and working chair/evacuation chair or vehicles as necessary throughout the day
- Assistance with accommodations in practical subjects such as Physical Education, Crafts, and Home and Consumer Studies.
- Assistance on school trips and outings
- General assistance to facilitate movement and daily activities

The assistant may also be asked to help other students in need of academic or social support as part of their duties.

The ideal candidate has training and/or experience working with individuals who use a wheelchair, for example those with education as a nursing assistant (undersköterska) or from previous experience working in schools.

The applicant should be comfortable working in an English-language environment. Fluency in Swedish is an asset.

Our school is located in Hässelby Strand, Stockholm, a short walk from Grimsta nature reserve . Our school serves approximately 570 students from grades 4 to 9 and 60 staff.
