Student Care Coordinator

Student Care Coordinator / F-5

The SCC is a role on the EHT team that deals with preventative work, attendance and special cases (särskild undervisning). SCC reports directly to AP and works in close cooperation with the rest of EHT (including AM) as well as HOYs. It is a position on the Middle Management team, and as such is expected to uphold the ethos of the school at all times. 

Key areas of responsibility:

General school environment

- Be present in the school environment, halls and communal areas as much as possible, as available. Calming and preventative adult presence in transitions and breaks. 

- Regular contact with the Social Development Team and HOYs with regards to behaviour that is affecting students social and academic development. 

- To hold a position in the EHT team and attend weekly meetings

Social Skills resource site 

- Update and revise Student Care Database for social skills lessons for mentor time. Make sure HOYs and mentors have a good selection of mentor lesson materials to select from. Add new lessons as need arises. 

Attendance

- Maintain overview of cases to be reported (collaborate with HOYs on 6 week attendance checks) in line with school’s attendance policy

- report to kommun and HQ in liaison with AP, EHT and HOYs

Special case coordination

- Teaching of small groups in accordance with ÅP (särskild undervisning)

- Set up individual Google classrooms for special cases (can be in coord. with AM)

- Make special adjustments as necessary to work provided for these students; work closely with special pedagogues and counsellor as necessary to assess needs

- Main communication link with family, student, external agencies (BUP, Social Services, Resurscentrum and UMO)
