International Engelska Skolan in Sigtuna is currently seeking a Student Care Coordinator for the up-coming 2022-23 academic year.
The Student Care Coordinator supports the Assistant Principal in focused student care support across the school and in liaison with external student care based agencies. The Student Care Coordinator will lead the Student Care Team, the Heads of Year and work closely with the Assistant Principal to establish and develop a strong team to support students' specific needs.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Student Care Coordinator supports the Assistant Principal in leading student care work across the school.
- To take a lead role in the coordination of student care at a whole school level for students with specific difficulties from a social and emotional perspective.
- To take a lead on planning the pastoral yearly wheel with student care initiatives planned throughout the year.
- The SCC manages the organisation and documentation of pastoral information for the Student Care team (SCT). The SCC leads weekly SCT meetings.
- To lead the work (promote, prevent and prohibit) in collaboration with the Student Care Team.
- Leading of the school’s anti-bullying measures through the Plan mot kränkande behandling (Plan against abusive treatment) in collaboration with the Assistant Principal
- Assist the planning, preparation and delivery of induction, In-Service Days and Professional Development sessions with a focus on student care routines.
- To lead the Heads of Year team and mentoring programme
- To take responsibility for monitoring student attendance and compiling reports to external agencies as required.
- To liaise with and meet with outside agencies as appropriate and as directed by Assistant Principal.
- To take a proactive role in supporting students in particularly challenging circumstances through a child centred approach.
- To take a collaborative approach with the assistant principal on promoting and ensuring there are opportunities for all children to succeed.
IES Sigtuna opened its doors in August 2021 with 2 parallel classes from Kindergarten to Year 7 and one class of Year 8. We will continue to grow over the coming years until we have Kindergarten to Year 9.
