Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. The Student Care Coordinator (SCC) partners with students to ensure well-being through connecting them with resources and coordinating support services. The SCC is a visible and active IES role model who believes passionately in “tough love” and ATLs at our school. The SCC works closely with the pastoral care in the school, in order to ensure the safety, social welfare and stability of the students. The promotion of a calm and safe learning environment and our IEST Non Negotiables are a key focus in this role working in adherence to the PKMB.
Role
- The SCC is an important role model where the key role is to be visible in the school building promoting behavior management through our “Tough Love” and coaching routines.
- The SCC works alongside the Assistant Principal (AP) to develop, improve and implement the Plan Against Abusive Treatment including professional development workshops for staff.
- The SCC supports the AP in managing and documenting pastoral information for the Student Care team (SCT).This requires a confident and open approach to parental contact by calling home and attending meetings with students and parents. The SCC attends weekly SCT meetings.
- The SCC supports the AP in communicating with the various stakeholders: municipalities, Police and/or other relevant authorities. Tasks may include but are not limited to Absence reports, SIP meetings and other sensitive information meetings regarding our students.
- The SCC works closely with the student body by their active involvement around school to develop trust and school spirit across the year groups, with buddies and the student council.
- The SCC requires a good understanding of documentation systems, primarily Pro-Renata, but also SchoolSoft, Google docs and GDPR regulations.
- The SCC supports the mentors with the coordination and monitoring of the Behaviour Notice and Detention process.
- The SCC may be asked together with the AP to support the HOYs and /or Mentor in cases where the issues require SCT involvement. The SCC also attends the weekly HOY meetings.
- The SCC is responsible to ensure a calm learning environment during the school day, with an extra focus on the students (starting with meet and greet) and finishing their days in an orderly and safe manner.
- The SCC takes an active part supporting the AP in monitoring the Hallway, Break Duty, Lunch Duty, Table Tennis and Student room schedules.
- The SCC helps the school meet our targets by having a clean school, free of litter and graffiti with fresh toilets and welcoming classrooms.
- The SCC keeps track of and organizes the locker numbers for students.
- The SCC should have a good knowledge of and be involved in the development of:
- The Quality development targets for the school plan mot krankande behandling/Plan against abusive treatment
- Crisis Plan
- Student-Parent Handbook
- Whilst Fluency in Swedish is not a requirement a working knowledge is seen as advantageous.
