About the vacancy
The Student Care Coordinator supports the Assistant Principal in focused student care support across the school and in liaison with external student care based agencies. The Student Care Coordinator will lead the Student Care Team and work closely with the Assistant Principal to establish and develop a strong team to support students' specific needs.
SUMMARY
The Student Care Coordinator supports the Assistant Principal in leading student care work across the school.
- To take a lead role in the coordination of student care at a whole school level for students with specific difficulties from a social and emotional perspective.
- Involvement in the development of the school’s anti-bullying measures through the Equal Treatment Plan.
- Assist the planning, preparation and delivery of Induction, In-Service Days and Continued Professional Development sessions with a focus on student care Swedish Educational norms.
- To line manage the counsellor team.
- To take responsibility for monitoring student attendance and compiling reports to external agencies as required.
- To support with developing programmes and offering support for mentors and year teams with regard to the social and emotional well-being of students.
- To liaise with and meet with outside agencies as appropriate and as directed by AP pastoral.
- To take a proactive role in supporting students in particularly challenging circumstances through a child centred approach.
- To take a lead role in the coordination of the ‘class mixing process’ taking particular care of the social and emotional needs of students.
REQUIRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience as working in a counselling role
- Outstanding administrative skills.
- Outstanding conflict management and de-escalation skills when dealing with both students and parents.
- Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Prorenata, Schoolsoft and/or other data management systems.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrable middle leadership experience.
- Excellent time management skills.
