IES Hässelby is looking for an experienced professional to join the leadership team as a Student Care Coordinator. We are looking for a highly committed and student-focused individual who can support children/young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Our ideal candidate has a background and education in social work, counselling and/or special education. This role requires a high level of competency in both the English and Swedish language.
Role Description
As the Student Care Coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating all the student care and pastoral initiatives at the school, together with the Assistant Principal, Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Behaviour Coordinator. Other main areas of responsibility include coordinating the Student Care Team's preventative work, including the school's plan against abusive treatment (plan mot kränkande behandling).
Key Responsibilities
You are a visible leader around the school and active in daily school life. You work closely with organizations such as BUP, Socialstyrelsen and Fältassistent. You have strong knowledge of school law, especially regarding Student Care Teams and supporting students to reach academic and social goals. You are able to build strong and positive relationships with parents and students. You use evidence-based approaches to help resolve students' emotional and behavioral issues. You are flexible and adaptable to change, and can handle pressure on a daily basis. You have a strong passion for children and education and for helping them to find their place in the world. You are able to work on your own initiative, make good judgments and lead as required.
