Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is through both Swedish and English, with English the language of the corridors. IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at "Grundskolan" with 43 schools and around 30,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.

IES Eskilstuna is one of the largest schools in Sweden with 1,185 students enrolled in grades F-9 and approx 125 staff members.

Student Care Coordinator - Year 7-9

You are a goal-oriented problem-solver, who is optimistic and enthusiastic. You are looking to work as part of a committed team and grow professionally. You are calm and self-controlled under pressure and a role model committed to achieving our IES ethos. You are a specialist in pastoral/student care and behaviour management. As a member of the school management, you will report to the Principal, the Assistant Principal Pastoral and the Assistant Principal 7-9 .

Key skills required:

• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Good working knowledge in both Swedish and English
• Ability to coordinate student support work
• High expectations of good behaviour and the ability to achieve it
• Knowledge of Swedish school law related to student care
• Knowledge of NPF and other disabilities
• Ability to coordinate schedules, events and activities
• Ability to drive the school’s rules, routines, and policies
• Highly flexible, calm and with strong emotional regulation
• Highly professional, solution orientated and positive demeanour
• A problem solver and team player – gets things done with others

Main responsibilities:

• Work closely with the academic manager and assistant principal 7-9 to support the academic climate for learning and cooperate with the Assistant Principals where required
• To secure the social welfare of all students Year 7-9
• Work proactively with students, parents, and staff to develop our IES values
• Presence and visibility across the building
• Administrate the school’s attendance routines
• Meeting parents/students and initiating solutions
• Develop mentorship with HoYs and mentors
• Documentation and follow up in relation to Chapter 3 and 5 of Skollagen
• Initiate and drive the school rules policies and procedures
