The International School of Älmhult has grown rapidly since it opened in 2000 and has a current population of over 160 students. Situated in Älmhult in southern Sweden it is a state school with support from Ikea of Sweden for the teacher`s professional development. The local area, which has a population of approx. 15 600, is peaceful and situated in an attractive area with nearby lakes and forests. The provincial town of Växjö is easily reached by either rail or road, as are other large cities in the region and the Continent. The school was authorised for The International Baccalaureate`s Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009. The school is international and has a friendly atmosphere. The classes are small and all teaching is in English.

The International school is looking for a 'student coach/student assistant' who will support a specific student within the group during class and/or fritids time. The person will respond to needs of the student, the class teacher and the group.

KVALIFIKATIONER
The successful applicant will:
- have experience in working with students with different needs.
- have excellent spoken and written English.
- be an excellent, flexible, effective communicator.
- need to respond to the needs of a changing team within a changing workplace.
- must be excited by the development of the school and need to part in the continued development of systems and protocols that will ensure the smooth running of the school.
- need independent thinking to make good decisions throughout the process of change.


We are looking for a person who will connect with the child and we look at different qualifications to find the right person for this position.
The person should be able to work positively and effectively with parents and staff.
