Bladins School is an independent School consisting of a Swedish Preschool, Swedish Compulsory School, an International School and an Upper Secondary School, in total approximately 1500 students. We are located in Malmö, a large, vibrant city located in the south of Sweden.

The International School is authorized to deliver the IB Primary, Middle and Diploma programmes from the age of 3 to 19. The school is expanding and we are now looking for dedicated, international teachers to fill temporary positions on our team.

POSITION TITLE: PYP Student Development Coach
EFFECTIVE DATE: August 10, 2020
CLOSING DATE: August 16, 2020
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Student Development Coach for our after-school care programme (Fritids).


The primary aim of the Student Development Coach is to to facilitate safety, security and learning for students inside and outside of the classroom. Additionally, some SDCs have the specific role of supporting individual students with identified, documented needs.


Key responsibilities:
To plan and carry out pedagogical activities for students according to the Swedish school curriculum
To create safe, stimulating and fun learning environment
To create situations where students can be challenged in their learning processes and which develop their interests
To build strong relationships with students by actively participating in pupil’s self-organised play, and by actively creating and participating in new play activities.
To scaffold pupils in achieving some goal they cannot achieve alone
To model and utilise democratic principles in order to promote a participatory approach towards learning
To promote children's curiosity and inquiry through promoting equality. Of importance here is pupil’s ability to critically examine gender roles and how they can limit people's lives and to create an inquisitive environment based on equality
To demonstrate responsibility and leadership skills and to set a strong example for students and other colleagues



This position is a part-time position (50%).


Minimum qualifications & experience are the following:
2 years of relevant experience working with students with social, emotional and learning needs
Ability to engage and build relationships with children is essential



Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Experience in highly multicultural settings
Fluent and accurate in both written and spoken English
Professional approach to all tasks, solution oriented
Team player
Ability to maintain good working relationships, and manage change when necessary.
Discrete and able to maintain confidentiality, reliable, and trustworthy
Having knowledge and understanding of the Swedish Fritidshemmet curriculum and/or the relevant IB curriculum is an advantage.
