Student Housing Manager to the Facilities team

Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) currently has 222 apartments and 300 tenants in seven different properties.  

About the position

As our new Housing Manager, your responsibility will be to develop and drive processes connected to student housing, with the goal of reaching set targets and with SSE’s and our tenants’ best interests in mind. You will work closely to the Facilities Director, collaborating on operational as well as strategic projects, for example larger and smaller real estate/construction projects (tenant adjustments, renovations etc). No formal personnel responsibility included.

You will be part of the Facilities and Facility Services team (consisting of approximately 10 colleagues) and you will report to the Facilities Director.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

- Develop and digitize the Student Housing unit in close collaboration with the Facilities Director and other internal stakeholders 
- Monitor and manage the Student Housing budget while staying within approved budget parameters
- Administrative and hands-on work such as housing allocation, write rental agreements and managing invoices and payments
- Manage tenants moving in and out (including key management and inspections)
- Manage housing maintenance as well as renovations, refurbishments and furnishings
- Contact person for and negotiate with service providers such as landlords, housing cooperatives, electricity companies, insurance companies and others

Your profile

You are a problem-solver, with a flexible and service-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills. Furthermore, we think you are a relationship-oriented doer, who is collaborative, work well with others and who can independently structure your approach and drive your processes forward. It is important that you feel comfortable supporting decisions and policies to ensure that everyone is treated equally. You are a good negotiator.

Required  

- Significant practitioner and/or project management education from real estate/construction
- Oral and written fluency in Swedish and English 
- Good computer skills and digital confidence
- Project management experience (i.e. experience from leading projects).

Meritorious

- Experience from housing management and maintenance
- Documented experience of property management 
- An understanding of or experience from higher education sector
- Safety knowledge, with focus on buildings and maintenance
- Basic knowledge of technical installations

Other

This is a full-time, permanent, position based in central Stockholm. A 6-month probationary period applies. The position includes travels within Stockholm County. Please include your desired salary in your application.
