WHO ARE WE?
Volvo Group Design is the design function for the Group’s brands and business areas. The team provides design to products, digital solutions and services from the three studios located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France and Greensboro NC, US.


At Volvo Group Design we offer you to join a dynamic team of creative and passionate colleagues from many different backgrounds and cultures. Today we are a team of 11 Studio Engineers working for the business areas Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Bus. To expand our team as new exciting projects are starting we are looking for Studio Engineers to support the areas of Volvo Trucks, both interiors and exterior, and also Volvo Buses.


WHAT CHALLENGES DO WE OFFER?
The Studio Engineer is the crucial link between design and engineering departments and a major player in solving complex cross-functional challenges and balancing compromises when necessary. You work proactively to influence and translate technical constraints into design opportunities. The Key responsibility is to propose and secure, balanced and feasible optimal solutions to support and challenge both design and engineering development. The role will provide overall engineering support to the Volvo Group Design team through all phases of the product design process, including Advanced Design and Advanced Engineering. You will ensure engineering and design requirements for projects are understood, challenged and shared within both Design and Engineering respectively.
You will support the studio work and ensure correct technical and geometrical status. Secure the holistic approach in balancing requirements between engineering and design by being in the forefront of engineering trends, tools, manufacturing and development processes.


In this position you will report to the Studio Engineer Group Manager and will be placed in Gothenburg.

Other requirements are:
B.Sc. in a related design discipline. Mechanical/Design Engineering equivalent.
Experience from the automotive industry.
You have a strong knowledge of design, packaging, engineering solutions and integration within OEM environments.
Fully proficient in Catia V5 and/or CREO.
Experience from Design Studio environment.
Experience from Product Data Management systems.
