What you’ll do
The Inbound Operations Planning EMEA team at Volvo Cars plan and schedule transports both within EMEA and from overseas to all our EMEA production sites, consolidation centres and aftermarket as well as the return flows of packaging to our suppliers. Your responsibility will be to schedule transports to our plants and suppliers during a time limited period. The team is also a part of the Carrier Management team who are responsible to manage our carrier’s performance and future improvements.
Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of logistics and the European transport market and you also might have a degree or equivalent in Logistics or related subject as basis for your career. If you have experience from a forwarder or in house logistics team this is an advantage, equally experience from supply chain, another OEM or tier 1 supplier is also of interest.
You have proven ability to be accurate and detail oriented. You have proven ability and have your strength in prioritization and have also a proven ability to work creatively and analytically with a problem-solving approach. We also believe that you can think outside the box and are eager to see the broader picture in all you do.
This role will absolutely suit you if you are a quick learner and have excellent interpersonal skills including fluent English both written and spoken, as that will be your daily working language. We believe you have a strong knowledge and experience in MS Excel and understand operational planning and resource allocation.

Duration
Period for the paid summer internship is for 10 weeks, between 1 June – 31 August 2022. Start and end time to be discussed with recruiting manager.
